How wide is a full size bed?

A full-size bed, also known as a queen bed, is 54 inches wide. Although it is significantly wider than the 39-inch bed, it does not offer the same amount of room for two sleeping in it as two twin beds.

The standard full-size bed is 75 inches long, the same length as a standard twin but five inches shorter than the standard double bed. The queen is also 6 inches wider than the full bed. Despite the difference in size, many comforters are made to fit full or queen-size beds. The full / queen comforter is usually 86 by 86 inches.

What is the standard measurement of a bed?
The most common bed measurements are usually a very important factor when choosing your mattress. Although the vast majority tend to use standard mattress measures, another part of the population may need different or more special dimensions for their bed.

Single bed measurements
The standard size of a single bed: 90 x 190cm. It's called a twin or single, and this is the most common single bed size. In fact, it is the one that is often bought for a single person. However, in Spain, it is possible to find single beds 105 cm wide and 190 or 200 long. Depending on the weight or height, these measurements may be insufficient, so it would be advisable to buy a larger bed.
Double mattress dimensions
The standard measurement of a double bed: 135 cm x 190 cm. These were the measures that normally had the mattresses of the double beds, but lately, the size of the double mattresses has been more. So these beds are used by more adults individually.
The standard size of a double bed: 150 X 200cm. With these measures, we already have more than considerable dimensions for two adults. You and your partner can sleep and change position without restricting your movements.
Special double bed sizes
The standard measurement of a king-size bed: 180 x 200cm. They are considerably larger mattresses than the previous ones, ideal for people who measure and weigh slightly more than normal or for those who enjoy larger spaces.
The standard size of a presidential bed: 200 x 200cm. As much as you search, we can assure you that there are no bigger mattresses. In Spain, they are not usually very common, but they can be found.

Unlike other countries such as the Nordic countries, in Spain, we usually go directly from the crib to the single mattress and later change the latter for a double bed or a double bed. But why do we need to gradually increase the size of our mattresses? Because of the living space, that is, because we need a minimum space to sleep and this obviously varies with age.

When we are babies, about 60 x 120 cm will suffice, but we will have to increase them to 90 x 200 cm by the time we move on to the juvenile stage. When we are adults, we will need a minimum of 135 x 200 cm, but if we sleep with someone then the best is one of 150 x 200 cm Only in those cases where there is enough space at home can we resort to the bed 180 x 200 cm, a real luxury!
