Hueque Falls, a refreshing tourist destination

#traveling Also known as Sierra de San Luis, this park is located on the eastern slope of the Sierra de Coro, in Falcón State. It covers an area of 20,000 hectares and was created by Decree No 1,550 of May 6, 1987, in order to protect the various ecosystems present there, as well as the aquifers that form on its summits and which constitute the main water reserve for the region.

It has a warm humid climate in the lowland, while in the high it is dominated by a humid mountain cold. The relief combines mountains of gentle hills, with steep peaks. The Mitare, Ricoa, Seco, Coro and Hueque rivers are born there. The maximum elevation is the Galicia hill, 1,501 meters above sea level. The temperature ranges from 15-25 °C.

The vegetation of the Juan Crisóstomo Falcón Park varies with height and its fauna include mammals such as cunaguaro, porcupine, lapa and honey bear; birds such as the red-billed parakeet, the emerald bottle beak, the bell ringer and reptiles such as the iguana, lizards and snakes.

The impressive Hueque Falls are located in this park, made up of five crystal clear waterfalls about 5 meters high, which have become a place of recreation for hundreds of Venezuelans who come to these places to enjoy an extremely beautiful and privileged environment in which to spend a fantastic day together with family and friends enjoying a pleasant swim in its fresh and crystal clear waters.
