Hyperventilate and panic in the car
During the last truck ride back from Rotterdam to home base years ago suddenly the highway stopped. I saw a very deep hole and I slipped in there, luckily I got back to my positives while driving on the lane and could, swinging, get the truck under control again and drove to the next petrol station where I called a colleague who would pick me up later that night, so that I could drive after him to home base. When I came home, I almost slept for a few days. I was up, really up. It was end work and welcome sickness law where I was then disapproved, because of my fiebers.
Still on good days I kept driving my car, but it felt more exciting than ever. That even though I had already obtained the driver's license since I was 18. On a normal ride from Lemmer to Groningen I got the Spanish feeling stuffy, just or choked, no air and a feeling of oppression on my chest. It went black before my eyes and could just get the car into the lane, where I flew out of my car in blind panic and called my father crying. However, no stupid word came out of my mouth, no air. The feeling of dying. My father, of course, very worried and asked what was there. Sobbing, I could say that I did not dare to drive any further and was on the lane. 'Get in your car, get in and I'll stay on the line, 'he said. I did, and I came home trembling, safe and sound. However, the fear was good again.
Because of my eternal fatigue, I often see black strings before my eyes when I move my head from left to right and/or vice versa. As everyone knows, such a movement is really necessary when driving a car and so I started driving less and less independently. With pain in my heart I sold my car years later, it all went too fast on the road and couldn't concentrate on it anymore. Now I enjoy riding a scooter and even then I have strings, but you do not have to drive 120 km p/h, but a course of 30 km p/h is also fine.
Fortunately, I am not the only one with a form of fear of driving, if you can call it that for me, but know that there are a million people in the Netherlands suffering from driving anxiety. Soon I want to try driving again, just in my own neighborhood to see if it's going. And yet I prefer to drive, because if I already have strings as a passenger, I really don't get behind the wheel. The experiences have dipped in quite a bit and the fear of repetition makes me afraid and insecure. It makes me cramp, and it's precisely because of that you have a faster chance of a panic attack, which can manifest itself in hyperventilating.
Do you ever have fear while driving? Then know that you can get rid of it!
