Beautifully written, seems to have been an unforgivable adventure for you. It's still nice to come across new and sometimes beautiful places by chance. I haven't been to Gouda myself yet.
No, never been but I also live in Belgium 🇧🇪. Actually, I've only been to the Netherlands once and just across the border 😀. Nice report, love to read.
As an admirer of everything that lives, grows and thrives, I think it's a paradise for an observant photographer in the summer. At least judging by the photos you posted to this fun story.

The temperature feels pleasant and a bike ride wouldn't be bad, however the fury of the geese is not friendly at all. They are very jealous of their space, they don't like anyone's visit.
I only know Gouda for its delicious cheese, especially the old ones. The Van Bergen IJzendoorn Park looks nice with that water feature. When everything is in leaf later, it should be even better there.
Nice park! I did go to Gouda as a child. I then often went out from Leiden for a day out with my grandpa and grandma, where I stayed. That was a good time. In my memory, Gouda is a beautiful city. I should definitely go there again, I think.
