When I sit in on the bench on the platform, my headphones are on, nice in my own bubble of music, when I look up I see the platform enough, with a sigh I see people moving nervous when the train arrives, the whole tangle of people moves and moves almost like it's a sea, and it is actually, a sea of bodies that heap and move like that 5 seconds extra waiting time is an attack on their lives, or that extra time is the difference between life and death.
When I hear the hiss of the doors and look at the masses, I have to think of that picture of sheep walking through a fence, a very large herd that wants to go through a small opening, which makes it look like a sand runner, but instead of grains of sand, it's people, who are all the train out or want to go in, with almost an urgency that the world can't go on if they're not on that train.
When the crowds are less, I get up and walk quietly to the train, I step in and sit on 1 of the slap benches next door.
I bury myself in a book when I feel a pat on my shoulder "Hey stand up I want to put my folding bike here” I look up and see a wide guy with indeed a fold bike in front of me. I smile and tell him I don't feel like getting up and that there are other places where he can put him.
This is not good food on this gentleman and he looks at me angrily” Then I'll get the conductor, if you don't want to get up” I look at him and my cake is already a bit up. “You asked me a question, there can be more than one answer to that, and in this case my answer was no” I used this phrase as a joke more often, but this time I'm serious, I also wonder why it should be my place where he should just put it right now?
“Don't act so childish ly tr*t and just get up” Does he snaps at me. I shake my head again, on which the man pontifically bangs the fold bike almost against me and steps out to get the conductor.
When the gentleman comes back with the conductor and says on high legs that I didn't want to get up so he could park his bike, which is just allowed to come along, I stay calm. Even before the Conductor can say anything, I give sir and smile and look at the conductor. “A folding bike can go outside the rush hour and folded, as it is now during rush hour, and mister has not folded his folding bike”
The gentleman now almost seems to be jumping out of his skin with anger, and asks me who I don't think I am.
The Conductor responds to this that I am right, and that if the gentleman wants to bring his bike, he will have to wait for the next train which then falls outside the rush hour, and will have to fold it up.
On this, sir told that he really needs to have this train, on which the Conductor says that you can do that without the fold bike.
The gentleman swears a bit and storms out with his bike, he gives me some middle fingers and calls me some nasty things.
I see the man getting on his bike and cycling along the train, the conductor sighs. and steps out.
shortly I hear the whistle and the doors close, when we arrive at the next station, there is the railway police there, and I and the other see how the gentleman is taken out of the train by bike and put on a bench.
The doors are closing again and all I think is, if he had waited for the next train, nothing would have been going on, but now it doesn't matter.
