If you are going to Caracas, capital of Venezuela; don't forget to visit the house of Bolivar, the liberator.

#traveling Talking about emblematic places in Caracas can mean many things, but something that meets all the requirements of being a historical place is the birthplace of Simon Bolivar, a place located in the heart of the city that contains within it years and years of anecdotes and history. This is the home where the Liberator was born, took his first steps and trained as a young man of knowledge.

Visiting this place can move those who appreciate the value and significance of those places where a change began for the country as important as its independence. Bolivar's birthplace is a place that houses a large number of objects that can make you travel back in time. Some original objects are preserved on this site and others are replicas placed so that visitors can understand the context in which people were developing some 200 years ago.

The house serves as a museum in which several young people serve as “guides”, and explain to visitors the history behind each room. It is important to bear in mind that in 236 years a large number of events have happened that could directly affect the facilities and objects inside the house, the young people present indicate that tremors and earthquakes have affected the structure that has had to undergo structural changes, as well as looting after the death of the Liberator. Also, it is necessary to know that this house, years later, was rented to different inhabitants. Therefore, it can be astonishing that certain memories are still preserved.

The tour begins in the main hall, a hall that contains lamps of the time and murals executed by the painter Tito Salas. Like many other areas of the house, chairs made of wood are also preserved. It is important to know that no object must have human contact to preserve its state, just as photographs and flash recordings are prohibited. Here you can see a sofa upholstered in horsehair, American Empire style with decals.

Right next to the main hall is the room where Maria de la Concepción Palacios y Blanco gave birth to Bolivar. There you can see a bed preserved from the time and several objects, including chests of drawers, lamps, chairs and curtains. This room is closed to the public, it can only be seen inside it from the doors and windows.

Few areas of the house contain parts or parts of its original structure. On the route, right in front of the kitchen, there is a wall about 30 centimetres wide and two meters high, which contains original stones of the time and has been perfectly preserved since the construction of the house more than 500 years ago. The same goes for the stairs that give access to the laundry area, which has been completely remodeled.
