In the UK and Ireland, people looking forward to having their Billy bookcase or Klippan sofa can return their furniture to Ikea from the end of November. The Swedish furniture giant buys back unwanted items and then gets rid of second-hand items, reports The Guardian . Used items that are not sold are recycled.

For IKEA furniture that still looks like new, customers receive vouchers worth 50 percent of the purchase price. If there are signs of use, Ikea offers vouchers for 30 percent of the original price.
