Lately I've been asked whether I'm a feminist. I don't know if my my words have a feministic touch to it, I write my thoughts so maybe my thoughts are a bit feminist. Well, I would call myself a humanist (humanist is a person who advocates for human beings in general, right?) There's something I've gotta tell you, a woman expressing her frustration while treated different doesn't make her a feminist. Same way a man making his ideologies clear doesn't make him a masculinist. It's all about different point of views. We don't need to be animals to support animal rights so why do we need to be feminists and meninists to support them?
I've been told to act like a woman. And how is that? What is it like to act like a woman? And I've heard someone advising her little boy not to cry. That boys don't cry. Why do we raise our children with such gender misconceptions? Men can cry too. Women can shout. Guys can like wearing makeup. Girls can roam around in pjs and sweatshirts. Why call a guy dopehead or an alcoholic just because he has long hair and messy beard? Why call a girl a slut because she wears a shorts? Guys can like guys. Gilrs can find partners in girls. Being a lesbian or a gay is their choice people. Doctors, engineers and teachers are not the only stable professions. Drawing is a profession too. Someone choosing dancing as a career path will not make them financially unstable. Giving online job advises will earn you a living. Being different doesn't make them mad. That doesn't mean that they are out of their minds. This is fucking 21st century. Try understanding that people. It's high time we embrace the change. Stop forcing your opinions on others. Stop being judgemental. Stop prejudicing. Love has no gender. Compassion has no religion. Character has no race. Being different is a choice. There is no rule that the same road has to be taken every single time. Maybe the different road holds much more for you. Walk through that for once. Accept the change.
