Hello, Simonne, will you come to our “chat”?

Mariette is talking on the phone with a decent Bakelite landline telephone. After all, mobile phones didn't exist back then. Only around 1970, the first computers appeared. They were bombastic in the beginning and filled an entire room. Only computer experts could handle them.
In the beginning, the office clerk could only enter text for letters or type invoices on a keyboard. Those administrative tasks already appeared on a screen. It is likely that the first printers also appeared at that time. Because you had to print with which you had filled the unknown PC at the time.

“Maria and Juliette are coming. I'm sure it's going to be very enjoyable again,” says Mariette. As usual, I prepare the coffee and I'm going to bake a carrot cake this time”
“A carrot cake? With real carrots? Never heard of it. I'm curious how it tastes and if it's good, give me the recipe on Wednesday. Then I'll try it myself”
“Is it possible for your Wednesday afternoon”
“Yes, Mariette! I don't want to miss this for any money, and at least I'll see you again.
Last time we had a lot of fun. Especially with Mary's jokes. Surely he can remember it well. It always amazes me and how she brings it. hilarious! It's a real natural talent. We also had a lot to say to each other at the time. That will also be the case this time. Because a lot of weeks have passed by in the meantime”
“It's great that you're coming. I'm already looking forward to it. You are expected around half past two. Until then”

Wednesday afternoon.

Mariette is going to make coffee. She wants to have the coffee ready before her visit arrives.
From a flower decorated bleach box, she scoops 3 tablespoons of good brand coffee beans in her coffee grinder. She sits on a chair, places the device between the wavy of her long skirt and her legs and turns the handle at the top sharply to grind the coffee into powder.
After 3 minutes, the beans are pulverized into coffee powder.

“Huuum how good that smells,” she says to herself. As she heads back to the worktop in her separate kitchen. As soon as the small wooden coffee grinder is on it, it slides open the slide at the bottom of the appliance.
The whistle engine filled with water has already put them on the natural gas flames of the stove.
On the worktop is a simple but beautifully shaped ceramic coffee pot. There she set up a ceramic filter in the same color. Paper filters did not exist at the time. Mariette has one made of permeable cotton. She scoops three tablespoons of the ground coffee out of the slide of the coffee grinder.
Then she dives into the closet to take out her chicory suit. She scoops a big ladle of it on the coffee.
According to her, chicorei is good for the digestion of the coffee and also softens the taste.

A whistle cleaves the air in the kitchen.
It's the Moor. When the water is 100 degrees, the thing notifies Mariette that she can pour the coffee.
Every time the filter has run into the coffee pot, she pours the filter to just about the middle. She does this until the coffee pot is full.

Just in time. Because that's where the first visit to the door rings. It's “chatter-stocking” Maria. A Watergold of words immediately reverberates through the corridor as they step along the stairs to the first floor.
It doesn't take long before Simonne and Antoinette are also sitting around the round table in the dining room.
On it are Marietta's antique cups and saucers and a beautiful bowl with the same motif on which her carrot cake flourishes.
The coffee is soon poured in, added milk or sugar and the delicious cake divided into muscles and placed on each one's plate.
The socializing of the girlfriends starts immediately with a very funny joke that Maria brings out. You feel that way. All four of them are open to making their togetherness a pleasant meeting.
While they drink Mariette's delicious fresh coffee in between and enjoy the carrot cake and the chocolates she prepared.
