Arnold Heertje, economist and emeritus professor died last week. He died on Saturday 4 April at the age of 86.
Heertje was also known for his opposition to the Betuwelijn and his textbook De Kern van de Economie. In 2016, Heertjes's textbook - almost 55 years after the first edition - was re-introduced as a teaching method in many schools. As can be seen in Law van Speaking, the emeritus professor at that time still gave guest lessons in economics at secondary schools.
