The king receives 4.7 million natural subsidies for Kroondomein donated to the people, but closed it to the public this week until the end of December, to shoot animals undisturbed with members of the court and hunting guests from home and abroad.

Last Tuesday the King not only gave the Throne speech on Prince's Day, but also closed the Crown Domain to the public. In violation of all subsidy rules and despite the fact that the forests around Paleis het Loo were donated to the people by Princess Wilhelmina in 1959. It had set conditions for this: should the monarchy cease to exist, the whole would have to be handed over to Wilhelmina's then living heirs. Whether the value of the Crown Domain should be reimbursed, plus the statutory interest.

Now the TV show Zembla has shown that the 4.7 million nature grant that King Willem-Alexander receives for the Crown Domain has been unlawfully granted, and now that the Crown Domain is closed to the public, it seems that the king is claiming both the forests and the compensation, without the monarchy being ceased to exist. A win-win-win situation for the king, a serious loss for the people of the Netherlands.

People are banned from their own forest, until 25 December the animals are intensively hunted by members of the court and their hunting guests from home and abroad.

Time for a generous gesture: in the name of Orange, open that forest. Our forest!
