In the record store
A few days ago we were talking to the children about the nostalgic feeling of a cd and record store, today we came across a Valhalla of vinyl, CDs and more! What a surprise that was.
How wonderful it was to wander around a record store in the past. listen to CDs, discover new music or relive familiar music. Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer record stores to be found. But every now and then you come across such a gem and today it was the record store Sounds in Venlo. We looked out of our eyes and were sweet here for a long time. So much! And such great albums! New vinyl and CDs and second hand, everything is a bit like that.

It's really worth a visit!

I love to poke between second hand LPs. I came across some really nice albums. Pink Floyd, Peter Gabriel, The Who, Supertramp, The Beatles... too much to mention. I think they have everything. With the new albums on vinyl I saw a great performance of Ayreon and Dreamtheater but also of Deep purple. I only made pictures of it for the wish listα¦)
Did you know that...
- The first music store in the Netherlands was probably the one of Evelyn Novacek in Groningen Hoogezand. The store opened on 22 May 1937 and consisted mainly of musical instruments and 78 rpm records, sheet music and gramophone needles.
- The full-length record was introduced in the US in 1948.
- Vinyl has made way for the CD since 1983.
- Since 2012 the LP has become more and more popular again.
