Whether something is an insect or not, you can see by dividing the animals by the number of legs.
- 6 legs? Then you have an insect.
- 8 legs? Then you have an arachnid.
- No legs or more legs? Then they don't belong to these animal groups.
- Many insects can fly, but not all. With the layout of wings - no wings - you get insight into this feature.
- By the way, ants can fly part of the year! So ask on if the student classifies the ant in that column! Would be really cool if they could tell you! They have a bridal flight, the queen is looking for a new nest, and the males fly to follow her.
