International Banana Day (3rd Wednesday in April)
The third Wednesday in April has been declared The Day of the Banana. The international day has blown over from America, where it's called Banana Day. So let's go with that banana! Put this popular, crooked and yellow fruit in the sun on this day! The vegetable farmers, supermarkets, manufacturers and other companies have been doing it for a while, because the banana is really champion of all fruits and, of course, deserves its own “day of fame”.

All kinds of delicious banana recipes appear in newspapers, magazines and Social Media. Do you also eat an extra banana this day? Bananas are distributed in many places (such as school canteens) and the spotlight is focused on this happy fruit friend. A banana every day is super healthy! We Dutch people too love it, young or old, a banana goes in with everyone!
