International Fire Brigade Day
On this International Fire Brigade Day, attention is drawn to all the good work firefighters do. Every day we're grateful to firefighters, but on this day we'll let them notice extra! Especially in our country, many firefighters are voluntary. Let's thank them all and pat them on the back!
In America, it's called International Firefighters' Day and there it's all tackled big with all kinds of events. In schools, this is a theme day, and there are parades, festivals and the companies play in. Learn More? Watch HERE. On May 4, it is also the day of the Holy Florian (Florian's Day) . That is the patron saint of the fire! Fire is our common enemy and fighting fire can be dangerous. But luckily there is also the fire department!
On Firebrigade Day therefore firefighters are thanked for all their dedication and sacrifice. The men and women often risk their lives to save other lives. We therefore especially honor all the firefighters and commemorate the former firefighters who died on 4 May.
