Iris changes due to the small bottle

“It was just a small bottle. Very carefully I turned the cap off and the world changed before my eyes.” That's how the story of Ilse begins. Her life has changed by the contents of a tiny bottle. And that can happen to you and me, too, if you don't — or you do — pay attention.

It was a summer day when Ilse walked alone on the beach. Quietly past the surf, her thoughts roaring along the waves of the sea. Suddenly, her toe hit a piece of glass, which was hidden in the sand unobtrusively. She was shocked and worried for a moment that her blood was going to flow, but that wasn't easy. She looked at what she had actually hit and dug up a little bottle. The cap was still on it.

With the bottle in her hand, her thoughts went back to the old days. As a child, she often played the stories of Pippi Longstocking. The bottle thrown into the water from the pirate ship always played a prominent role in this. Would this bottle make her dreams come true? She already dreamed that one day the letter in the bottle would turn her life upside down.

And now, after all these years, she was standing on an empty beach by the sea with this bottle.

Carefully - alarmingly slowly actually - the tense Iris opened the bottle. What would be in it? She was hoping for a letter, like in the stories of the old days. And to her bewilderment, there was indeed a piece of paper in it.
