One of the confusions that exists in society is that carrying this food is very expensive.

Vegan diet can be expensive or economical, it all depends on the way you eat; a healthy vegan diet is basically composed of unprocessed foods such as grains, cereals, fruits and vegetables, which are available in all supermarkets and in market places and at cheaper prices than products from animal origin .

Nuts are the only ones that can have a higher value, however, the suggested daily portion is small and their nutritional properties are not achieved with animal products .

In addition, whatever the type of diet, there are two alternatives that increase or decrease costs:

  • Choose Processed Foods over Natural Foods: If you choose to base your diet on processed foods (eg biscuits, box cereals, mecato packs, boxed juices, etc. ), many of them may have higher prices than foods that are obtained in their most natural form .
  • However, it should be noted that processed foods are not necessary or the healthiest option; they can be occasional purchases and even useful for the first weeks of transition, but what we recommend is to teach the palate to the flavors and textures of food in their MOST NATURAL form.
  • Eating out instead of preparing at home: If you choose to eat out or buy prepared instead of preparing at home, it will also determine the high value of a diet, whatever the diet
