#SRVWAGEN : Modern times have the #SRV car was driven out of the streets, but does the SRV car come back in this corona era? Recently I saw on SBS6 already the first #rijdende car... so chances are now Holland in a partial #lock -down has ended up!
The SRV car is a small driving supermarket.

The name stands for “Rational Selling Together.” Later they suggested that they were the first three consonants from the word 'Service'. SRV originated in 1966 from the collaboration of a number of wholesalers that throughout the Netherlands mainly delivered to the dairy trade: Super Ratio and Knipkaart.

Initially, the SRV was set up as a purchasing organisation. The concept of the driving supermarket was conceived by Philips-top man Cor Boonstra when he was sales manager at the Dairy Trade Maatschappij. From 1966 to 1974, Boonstra was the first SRV director under Chairman E.W. Heeremans. Later, SRV became a sales formula with leaflets, savings coins and savings stamps, own brands, newspaper and even TV advertising.

In the Netherlands (and to a lesser extent Belgium) some companies were active in the construction of vehicles for the RV. The most famous are #Spijkstaal and Creusen, but also Hoogstaal, Gova, Carventa, Rengocar and Smit Joure built cars. The French ALM and Baeten produced similar vehicles. The SRV vehicle could have been powered by an internal combustion engine or an electric motor with batteries.

The SRV formula was abolished in 1995.

Is this car coming back into the streetscape?
