“Big news for you” series!'in 2023
Often, people are ashamed to react a little more exuberantly than usual. Especially in a conservative, conservative country like the Netherlands. At least, unless the masses go crazy — like at the European Championships or World Cup, for example, when everything and everyone is orange. In Christian circles — and that's what I'm watching in this series — that's definitely a thing.
I also had a lot to do with that myself. I think I was enthusiastic as a small child and was able to act exuberantly. But that soon tempered and deep inside — and regularly on the surface in my mind — I felt that I should act normally. Just act normal and you'll be crazy enough, so to speak.
In God's Word, I read that a king, a man after God's heart, dances passionately for the Lord.
In my opinion, this goes rigorously against the religious spirit of the sober Dutchman. Many people — like David's wife Michal — are therefore offended, I think.
