Villa, Porsche, infinity pool: it's about making good money from a good cause

Many charities depend on sales agencies that recruit donors on the street and at the door for a close budget. Indirect charity work turns out to be good business: the owners of the recruitment agencies have impressive assets and visible wealth.

Many major charities hire sales agencies to recruit donors. Analysis of social media, websites, vacancy and LinkedIn texts and discussions with former employees shows that the customers of most agencies mainly come from the charity sector.

The market is dominated by people in their thirties with an impressive real estate portfolio: the 9 youngest owners own 40 homes together. The 16 owners, whose annual reports of their personal holdings are located, collected a total of around 651 million euros in equity. It allows them to afford expensive homes, cars, vacations, and hobbies.

In their opinion, charities pay heavily for recruitment. Greenpeace has an average payback period of 24 months, an average donor to Refugee Work pays the sales agency for 20 months.
