One of the many walks on the Ligurian coast is the path of Levanto to Monterosso al Mare , the first village of the famous Cinque Terre.
The route starts at the old castle of Levanto, from where you quickly climb up along narrow streets and terraces full of olive trees.

The path winds along the rugged coast and offers spectacular views of the turquoise sea and the colorful houses of the villages in the distance. Along the way, you'll pass fragrant Mediterranean vegetation and small chapels that give the route extra charm.

Where you can still speak of a decent path in the beginning, it soon turns into rocks.
The path remains clear, but it is becoming more difficult.



After about two to three hours, the steep, sometimes uneven descent towards Monterosso begins. The path consists of countless uneven steps and rocky sections, so you have to be careful where you place your feet.
