#make your own detergent and other application of the ivy plant.
What a lot of people don't know is that your nature can make its own detergent, which you can do a lot of fun things with. That's why I always have an ivy plant growing in my garden. It doesn't give you a nice green hedge but it also has nice benefits in this post I'll explain how you make it.

Application and create process.

The content of saponins in ivy leaves is very high, between 2.5 and 6%. A strong
concentrated liquid ivy detergent can be made by using 50 grams of fresh leaves
grind in a blender, together with 1 liter of water. Beware because it's going to foam fink.
Bring this mixture to a boil for two minutes. When it cools down, filter it
mixture and so you have a liquid antibacterial and antifungal detergent. With this
you can do the dishes or use it as a hand soap, shampoo or washing product. This detergent
is so powerful you only need 80ml to wash your hair. Ivy is, in addition to strong
cleansing, also promoting scalp blood flow and hair growth
and thus counteracts hair loss. Due to its antiparasitic, astringent and wound-healing
properties this shampoo can be used against hair lice, wounds or itching on the
scalp. Because the leaves, but also the twigs and berries are used as dye,
a decoction of ivy is mainly used as a shampoo for dark hair or as
washing product for (faded) black fabrics.

Other application of this great ivy plant.

Ivy is applied externally to treat rheumatic pains, muscle aches,
sciatica, sore joints, hemorrhoids, varicose veins, swollen tissues, light (solar)
burns and purulent cuts, fungal infections, skin rashes,. A macerate
of the leaves in vinegar or alcohol is used in corns and calluses. By its
anti-inflammatory properties the plant is used against cellulite. It will be
not recommended, due to potential toxicity, to take ivy orally.
A yellow and brown dye is derived from the twigs. A decoction of the twigs
is used to restore black fabrics.

In the garden it is a good ground cover: ideal for suppressing weeds. Additionally
weaving the plant easily into fences and forms a dense hedge so quickly. Moreover
this climber contains so many saponins that a decoction of the plant, molluscs, such as
slugs and cottage snails, can kill.
