Jonah without a whale
Mounir Samuel has recorded a three-part podcast series following his book Jonah without a whale, published last year. Seas and oceans play a key role in the climate crisis; rapidly rising sea temperatures are having enormous consequences all over the world. Mounir is concerned about these developments and what they mean for us. All three parts can now be listened to on his website or your favorite platform.
1. A whale graveyard in the middle of the Sahara.
In the first episodes, Mounir Samuel takes you via Klein Curacao on a journey to Fayoum, Egypt, where he ends up in a giant whale cemetery and finds a climate museum in the middle of the desert. The whale could be the biggest solution to the climate disaster. In this episode, Mounir explains how that works. He discusses the consequences of the high sea temperatures, the slowing of the Gulf Streams and a Super El-Nino. Finally, there is the Biblical story of Jonah and the great lessons we can learn from it. Mounir also brings vision and hope and presents the idea of a National Climate Action Committee to be able to make choices now, before they are gone.
