A federal judge on Tuesday rejected a trial that Taylor Swift accused of infringement of the copyrights for her hit “Shake It Off”. Songwriters Sean Hall and Nathan Butler made these allegations last fall, arguing that the song's chorus was borrowed from their 2001 composition, “Playas gonna Play.” In his ruling, Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald, which combining the phrases, “Playas gonna play” and “haters gonna hate”, does not bring enough originality to justify copyright protection.
