Judo parents.
Football parents... it's often a special blow when you see them standing along the line (not all shooting now) there was even a movie on TV a while ago to show these parents how not to do it. Handball parents are a lot more relaxed on the stand, (acro) gymnasts also (although they complain very much afterwards I have the idea) but judo parents are also a very special hit.
At every game I sit down, you sit very long and then I hear and see things at every game that I think: “die hant ing pan aaf” (“they are crazy”). Apparently, everyone in those kids is going to be talented and the Olympics in the future. Like for example when weighing: preferably in underpants because otherwise they could weigh just too much and have to judoe in another group. Often these children have to wait 1 or 2 hours before they can go on the mat themselves but then they are supposed to watch that full time what happens on the mat and they are not allowed to play games on ipod, ipad or phone, read or draw books: not done. Hungry? But not yet weighed? Wait a minute, then... On the grandstand is also quite a bit “idolated” (literally). And the referees at those games, I don't understand that either. They approve things that I even see that they are really not good (and that while I really am a total nitwit). And around me I hear more strange things that I don't see because I know the balls. But these gentlemen seem to have a real god status. General conclusion: I think it's weird people who judo squeaks at competitions.
In addition, judo competitions are really boring and take way too long. Well, the kids aren't even that long on the mat, a game lasts 3 minutes max. I think but you're sweet with it for hours. By the way, that dullness equals gymnastics matches, that is also hours of waiting, child does the exercise in a few minutes and then you wait a very long time again.
I miss handball when it comes to competitions. Be there half an hour in advance. Twice 20 minutes (if I remember correctly) handballs. Won or lost and then change and go home. Even a handball tournament was more interesting than judo or gym competitions even though you lost as much of it in terms of time.
Achteraf zei mijn zoon: wil je dat nooit meer doen, ik was meteen uit mijn concentratie! :)
