From a young age I was captivated by the life of biblical characters and one in particular drew my attention, King David and here I share a brief overview of his life

David has been a very important king of the Kingdom of Israel whose work and life is reflected in the Bible, more precisely in the Old Testament in the books of the prophet Samuel and in The Psalms.
He succeeded King Saul and was the second monarch of the Kingdom of Israel to achieve a milestone in the history of the Israeli people, which was the unification of the territory, and later, he knew how to expand it to add cities such as Petra, Samaria, Jerusalem and Damascus, among others,

Christians, Jews and Islamists admire and venerate this king for the importance he had shown in his time and also because of his religious influence in these religions.

It should be noted that in the Hebrew language, the name David means “the beloved,” “the chosen one of God”.

The Kingdom of Israel appears highly referenced in the Bible and is divided into two periods, on the one hand the so-called United Kingdom and formally known as the Kingdom of Israel in which Saul first ruled, then David and finally his successor and son Solomon ruled.

While the second period is characterized by the rupture of the immediately preceding kingdom and it only counted on the northern part of the first Kingdom.
Finally this kingdom would be conquered and destroyed by the Assyrian empire.
David was born in a tribe of Judah, in the city of Bethlehem in 1040 BC., while he reigned between 1010 and 1003 BC. in Judah, and then between the latter year and the year 970, in which he died, he reigned in Israel.

David is one of my favorite biblical characters, his beginning in the bible as a winner of goliath and the love that was professed to his great friend Jonatan are the most important things I remember about this character..
