King's day straws necklace

You can craft a necklace for King's Day, but of course can be done for any other day or occasion. But what if you only have a few beads? Then look in the kitchen cabinet for a few paper straws, 4 or straws per chain you already have more than enough! Cut the straws into pieces and thread them to a thread. This can be elastic wire, but also macrame cord or other string. If you have small beads, make sure that the thread can easily pass through for the children. Stringing the straws yourself is no problem even for the smallest children!

We happened to have orange straws in the house, but where it was bought I don't remember. You can buy paper straws just about anywhere and they come in a variety of colors. Also in red, white and blue. So we wanted to make a festive necklace for King's Day. By combining straws with beads, the necklace becomes slightly heavier and stays nicely in place. The crown underneath as a pendant is made of 1 straw and a chenille wire. That's all!

Thread the beads between the straws. If you no longer have beads, you only thread the straws even further. However, the same amount on each side, so that the necklace stays nicely the same. For the crown, insert a chenille wire through 1 straw. 

Thanks to the iron wire that is in the chenille wire, you can bend any shape whatever you want. For example, a heart, a star, a fish, a rabbit or your own initial letter is also possible!

At the crown, another bead is strung at the top. The ends of the chenille wire bend and tighten around the center bead of the chain. Your King's Day Necklace is Ready!
