dragonfly route

In mid-July, I will be in Emmeloord for the Oord festival and I'm staying with my little brother for the weekend. He tells me that he read in the newspaper that the little kingfisher butterfly was seen in the Kuinderbos. Fortunately, the weather is beautiful to look for there the next day.

We have no idea where to look, but the dragonfly route is always interesting.

When I walk through the tall grass, I suddenly see a wrapped damselfly hanging. I don't even notice the wasp spider yet. Only when I look a little closer do I see her.

If you see a wasp spider, there are guaranteed to be more nearby, so I walk on very carefully. And yes, this lady also caught a damselfly.

Actually, I was hoping to spot some butterflies among the grass.

But only find this darter.

Rare dragonfly!

When I search the piece of heather a little later, I find a completely different dragonfly, which I don't know yet. It turns out to be a very rare Kempen darter. It could be a female or a young male, the male turns red also with black spots. In the past, this dragonfly was mainly found in De Kempen, but almost 10 years ago they also appeared to live in De Weerribben-Wieden. Well, that's not too far from the Kuinderbos. And does that dragonfly know a lot that its name is the Kempen darter.

A butterfly at last.

We walk slowly, hoping that a butterfly will appear somewhere. Okay, a clover tensioner.

Luckily we stayed here for a while,

otherwise we would have missed this beautiful dragonfly.

I can only find one of this clock.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure what kind of campanula it is. Obsidentify hits 64% on a rough clock.
