La Metra traditional Venezuelan game

Metras are made of different materials such as glass, alabaster, clay, metal, others
The shape of the game is varied but depends, in particular, on the accuracy of throwing and hitting a small ball against another.

Each place has its own way of identifying the playful strategies to which it assigns particular names. “Lightning”, “Pot”, “Hollow” is/ (was it?) how to call them in the community where the author played the game during his childhood.

“Rayo” is a triangle within which each player deposited his marble, who managed to hit them and get them out from a certain distance, earned it.

“Olla” was called a circle where players also placed their metra to make them out and take over according to pre-agreed rules.

“Hollow” refers to the most common way: each player throws his own ball until he gets into a previously made hole, until he achieves this task, the metra will not be in a position to impact the opposing ones but is exposed to those who have been able to do so.

The game came with the colonizers, the oldest record of its existence dates back thousands of years in Egypt where some marbles were found in the tomb of a child. #gaming
