Learning Disabilities (DA)
We call learning difficulties problems that a child may experience in their school stage. Making a good diagnosis, including identifying the type of difficulty and its origin, is crucial to establish the basis for future treatment that prevents school failure in the student, loss of opportunities in the future or emotional disorders. Learning Disabilities is defined as an unexpected, specific and persistent difficulty in acquiring learning despite conventional instruction, level of intelligence and adequate sociocultural opportunities #iamacreator
Within Special Education we find the Learning Difficulty Area that encompasses a set of interdisciplinary sectors that seek solutions to the different variables of the school process that occur due to dropout, repetition or poor academic performance.
In this context, the Learning Disabilities Area provides specialized educational care to primary school children and young people who have interference or blockages in their learning process due to organic or environmental factors, which affect their educational and social aspects.
That is why specialist teachers play a very important role in this process because they must promote and stimulate the learning of the child, that is, create the conditions for them to learn and recognize their evolutionary process.
Some of the signs that can detect if a child has a learning disability are:
Difficulty understanding and following tasks and instructions.
Trouble remembering what someone just told you.
Difficulty mastering basic reading, spelling, writing and/or math skills, resulting in failure in school work.
