Legal action against Trump of The Rolling Stones

If US President Donald Trump continues to use The Rolling Stones songs during campaign meetings, legal action will follow. That's what the British pop group writes in a statement on Saturday.

During the meeting of Trump in Tulsa last week You Can't Always Get What You Want of The Rolling Stones were played, despite the fact that the pop group repeatedly announced that they did not give permission to do so.

During the 2016 election campaign, the song was also regularly used by Trump's campaign team, after which The Rolling Stones announced that they were not behind Trump.

In the statement, the group says that they are going to take legal action to make all their material restricted to Trump because earlier summations have made little progress. The use of music without the consent of the rightholder is against the law.

More artists don't want their music to be used by Trump

Last week, the family of Tom Petty who died in 2017 reacted with disapproval that Petty's song I Won't Back Down was played at the meeting in Tulsa. “Trump was in no way authorized to use this number to continue a campaign that leaves too many Americans - and common sense - behind him,” said the family in a statement.

Artists have often objected to the use of their music at US President's campaign meetings. Among others R.E.M., Rihanna, Pharrell, Guns N' Roses, Steven Tyler, Adele, Neil Young and George Harrison's heirs do not want their music to be used by Trump.
