Leijpark 013 Waste

You know that: The weather is nice, the family comes together and the Leijpark is around the corner. What do you do then? You take it for granted! The barbecue lasts, because that's allowed in the parks in Tilburg. A nice piece of meat on the grill, add music and you can make it a real party with your family and friends! Singing, dancing, adding some refreshments, it's going to be a lot of fun. And: All right, celebrate life and enjoy each other!
But everything comes to an end and then comes the fine art of tidying. Fair, right? You have made a mess together, then it is important to clean up all the mess again and throw it away neatly. You scoop up the coal that has fallen from the barbecue neatly, take plastic waste and glass back home and throw the trade into the container at home. The Leijpark is a wonderful place to throw a party, but also a place where not only you and your family, but also other people, their families, children and dogs enjoy the peace, greenery and clean surroundings. Unfortunately, there are still people for whom “decency” is not a familiar concept. Putting everything in bags was still an effort, but that's all. A party yesterday with around forty people resulted in this gang that was simply left behind in the Leijpark. Apparently, the entire trade can be towed into the Leijpark, but out again, that was too much. Outrageous, when you're with so many people, everyone can wear something, right? Apparently, unfortunately, there is still a long way to go

In 1928 verspreidde de ANWB een affiche tegen zwerfvuil, ontworpen door Willy Sluiter. Het door hem ontworpen affiche zou iconisch worden.
In 1916 startte de ANWB met campagnes tegen zwerfafval. In dat jaar verspreidde de ANWB voor het eerst posters tegen het achterlaten van afval in natuurgebieden. Tijdens de aanleg van rijwielpaden en bij het uitzetten van langeafstandswandelpaden kreeg de ANWB namelijk klachten van eigenaren van landgoederen en bossen. Ze waren boos dat toeristen papier, blikjes, dozen en flessen achterlieten. Grondeigenaren waren bang dat wanneer ze meer toeristen zouden toelaten, hun terreinen ernstig vervuild zouden raken.
