Let it Be, fight separation or a fun chat?
Half a century ago, The Beatles released their last album 'Let It Be'. Today October 21, 2021, a new CD box and a book will be released, which sheds new light on the creation of the album. Let it Be is known as their last album. After this recording, a record was made Abbey Road (1969), which only came out earlier than Let it Be.
With Brian Epstein's death in 1967 from an overdose, the group fell apart.Bandleader John Lennon has lost interest in the group — he's totally immersed in two new passions: girlfriend Yoko Ono and heroin. Paul tries to get them back to play., back to their roots: a rugged rock & roll band. Things are different, the sessions are going to be a disaster, the band breaks up. The bleak, tense days before the divorce were recorded in the documentary film Let It Be (1970).
On January 21, 1969 they will start in the basement of their own Apple building, American keyboard player Billy Preston joins. That makes the difference. Preston is a cozy guy and a gifted musician. For him, the Beatles suppress their chagrines, they're going to try their best again.What started as a tense divorce process got cozy after that.
A recurring theme is the concert they want to finish with. they can't agree on the location. Finally, (against Paul's will) decide on the roof of their own media company Apple, in the middle of London. A compromise because they weren't ready for a real concert. Like everything around the Beatles, this roof-top concert will nevertheless become legendary.
Almost 53 years later, Paul and the other surviving heirs find that the story is not entirely accurate. Today the Let It Be vinyl box and its book Get Back. At the end of November, Disney+ main course follows: a three-part documentary series on Let It Be . Separation? Quarrel? It was really cozy, though.!
