Let me introduce: the compost worm
A worm farm. In this bin, you can throw your organic waste at home and worms turn it into compost. We are now two years and many worms later and it is a great success, even outside Delft. “Compost worms are very easy pets.’’
An average household in the Netherlands produces 100 kilos of organic waste per year. Most of this is burned, causing CO2 emissions, while also serving as a feast for the compost worm. They easily convert banana peels, coffee grounds or dead leaves into compost and compost tea. You can then use this compost in your (mush) garden, on your balcony or in front of the tree mirror in front of the door. The compost tea (the moisture that is released during composting) can be diluted with plenty of water and pour it over (indoor) plants as a natural pokon.
