A Letter of British officer to his mother from British India; 18th century.

During quarantine, I opened my old diaries and found that I have completed a short exercise from NCERT. Which asked to write a letter to a mother of British officer who is enjoying his life in British India.

Dear mother,
After a long time I am writing a letter to you. Being a company official, i am busy in my work. But this is the only reason that i'm such Bon Vivant here. You can't imagine this life of mine by just imagining what we live in Britain.
Our EIC is expanding and it is giving so much authority to me to work here. I would love to share that your son is youngest one in all our company officials. This is leading to highest step of success. I wish i would plan to take you here. So that you will also enjoy such happy and luxurious life. The only missing factor here is- that informal situation of my motherland. Here, being company official, i have to be very strict with people . Whatever i will complete my duty soon and then we all will be together soon.
