Litter... is an outright disaster!
We can all complain about litter, put energy into letters, write to the congregation and newspapers. Unfortunately, the problem isn't going to be less. While we all complain about all that litter, a part of it is already travelling towards the sea to become plastic soup.
I regularly walk through the beautiful forest to walk my doggy and in the meantime I enjoy the nature around me. The wandering waste is a thorn in my eye. Is it really so hard to clean up your own junk? Drinking that one empty can can can also throw you at home in your own click? After all, you take it out full, then it will be heavier, then you take it back empty. No, out of convenience, it is thrown away in the bushes. Or it ends up next to such a sporadic garbage bin, instead of in it. In your own home or garden, don't let your mess swing either.?
Do you actually know how long litter stays in nature before it disappears? I can tell you it takes a very long time. Too long! Here are a few examples in between: An apple clock takes about 14 days to disappear on its own, but a banana peel or orange peel will take much longer, this will take up to 1 to 3 years. Soda cans take 50 years before they break up. Gum 20 to 25 years. Even a simple cigarette butt takes 2 more years to disappear.Â
