Living on dividends - part 1
Passive income with dividends!
After 3 months of reading, searching and learning about stocks and dividends, I bought my first stocks yesterday on the broker website Degiro. I chose 2 companies whose shares continued to grow over the past few years, but they also had to be companies that paid dividends. I started with only a modest budget of €50, so it took a bit of searching.

But, what are dividends really?
A dividend is a payment that a company makes to its shareholders when part of the profit is distributed. It is a way in which shareholders are rewarded for investing in a company and keeping its shares.
Some companies pay dividends once a year, others once a quarter, and in other (more rare) cases, even once a month.
I bought KPN and Barco NV shares, but why just those two?

Barco NV
Barco is a Belgian company, headquartered in Kortrijk, which was founded in 1934. They started with radio equipment at the time, but quickly switched to imaging when the TV came in.
