Lockdown in Blajel. afl.16
A few sunny days in Blajel, and the ant season is coming again. It was opened festively with an ant picnic around the knife I used to lubricate my bread this afternoon. The spray bottle of diluted vinegar is already ready. They don't like that much, or rather most don't survive. Unfortunately, the survivors do not pass on my murder lust to their likes and so the kitchen will smell regularly of vinegar for the time being.
The nice weather has also led the water supply company to call on the internet to use less water. The fact that a lot of people are now sitting at home and have poured themselves into the vegetable garden with heart, soul and garden hose causes problems with the pressure on the water pipe. It is not to be hoped that in the foreseeable future I will have to write a series of blogs about life without running water.
More and more municipalities are experiencing financial problems. Revenues have declined sharply because all kinds of payments have been suspended. The unexpected expenses are getting out of the box. In addition to disinfecting streets and porches of flats, the usefulness of which is doubtful, there are, among other things, additional facilities for the elderly. The municipality of Medias has rented a hotel for the shelter of the homeless.
Of course, there are people who take advantage of the situation. More than 3000 complaints have already been received by the Labour Protection Office from employees who have been officially inactive and are now receiving 75% of their salary from the State, but are still obliged by their employer to come to work.
Although no infection or deaths have been reported from Blajel and Medias, it is still getting closer. 95 deaths have now been reported in the province of Sibiu. One of them, a woman from Tarnaveni, a place 15 km away. This afternoon, the trauma helicopter came flying over my house and then you're unwittingly wondering if there's anyone with Covid-19 in there.
