Fascinating luminescent organisms occur in nature. This phenomenon, known as bioluminescence , occurs when living things use chemical reactions to emit light. This special phenomenon occurs in animals as well as some plants and fungi.

Luminous animals

Many marine animals, such as lanternfish, jellyfish and deep-sea shrimps , use bioluminescence to scare off enemies, lure prey, or communicate with peers. A common example is the angfish , which has a luminous' rod 'above its head to attract prey. Fireflies, which live on land, also use bioluminescence to find partners.

This phenomenon occurs not only in the deep sea, but also in our seas.
Just take a look.
