Effect of Density on Liquids

Don't you wonder why it's easier to float in the sea than in a pool
Let's do this experiment and you'll understand. For this you will need some materials that you are sure to have at home:

1/2 cup table salt
2 glasses
1 spoon
Tap water
2 raw eggs

Procedure

Fill the two glasses with tap water halfway

Add 1/2 cup salt in one of the glasses and dissolve it by stirring it with the spoon

Place an egg in each glass

What have you seen?

You sure see the egg in the glass with salt water floating, this is a product of desity, which refers to the amount of matter contained in a given space or volume. As you could see, the egg in salt water floated and the one that was in tap water did not. Because salt water is denser than tap water, as in addition to hydrogen and oxygen it also contains the molecules of salt (sodium and chlorine), the egg does not sink. Conclusion the denser the liquid, the easier it will be to float on it. #sciences
