Make useful use of the frost. (Winter or freezer)
When it freezes, it's time to take action!
Frost is a forgotten and undervalued help that can help with various problems. We got used to getting ourselves and all our things in frost and keeping it until it's over. Sin, because frost is hugely useful! I'll give you the top tips in the hope that it will help you when it starts freezing again.
Woodworm in a piece of furniture?
When you have woodworm, you can recognize that by small holes in your wooden furniture piece. When you pay close attention, you can see that, for example, there is some very fine wood dust underneath or in drawers. If that isn't there, you probably have old holes and the woodworm is long dead. However, if you have active woodworm, it is important to move your dry piece of furniture outwards, put it on blocks or pallets and then cover so that no moisture can be added.Â
Leave a day or two at least in case of strong frost. Mind you, it really has to be -15 and that a few days in a row.
Antique furniture does not drag directly into the ice cold from a heated room, then you have a chance of bursting wood. Let the furniture calmly get used to lower temperatures by, for example, moving the furniture to an unheated but dry room in the morning before the heating. After a day, you can open a window and only then really put it outside. Â
Getting inside is the same route back!
