Making Emoticons Message Boards from Coasters
You know them, those round cork pan coasters on the table, to set up the hot pans. Did you know that you can transform them into small bulletin boards? Hang them on the wall above your desk or in the kitchen, to pick up small memoots or fun photos.
Paint them yellow (eg. with Creall top deco acrylic paint) and make your favorite emoticons (emojis)! Below you can see our painted favorites. Relaxing to dye and fun to really use it as a message board!

And oh yes, keep July 17 in the holes! That is the World Emoticon Day , a day dedicated to these fun emotion icons! A great opportunity to craft fun emojis and use extra emoticons with your messages, apps, tweets, etc.

- Paint the coasters yellow.
- Pull a coaster on paper and draw eyes, mouth and hearts first and cut them out.
- Then lightly transfer the templates with a marker or pencil.
- Paint the eyes, eyebrows and mouth with a thin brush.
- Pink (for tongue and cheeks) is made of white paint, with a small drop of red mixed in. Because I had made too much pink, I also dyed the edges with it.
- The Creall paint covers very nicely and dries super fast. Then with a thin brush of black stripes (or dots) on the outer edge, that gives a funny effect.
