#MANNENKOOR 😍 Like the DMD days, there is also the #Grachtenfestival in our city and that gives a lot of rebellious. But unfortunately this year both #festijnen can't find a passage. So for me a reason to dive into my archive again. And this is what I found 😍 During the Grachtenfestival (June 2016) in Meppel the Men's Choir Recht deur Zee #IJsselmuiden on. They performed, among others, this song by René Schuurmans.

Detail about the choir: A group of men sat together one night talking. They didn't have much more to do and wanted to have an evening to themselves. Jokingly, they said: 'We're going to set up a choir'. And so was born on April 1, 2001 (no, it's not a joke) the male choir “Recht Door Zee!”.

With a small group they started rehearsing, but musicians needed a board and of course a conductor. After all this was done, there was more momentum in the rehearsals and the repertoire expanded. The choir also grew by the week. At its peak, the choir consisted of 80 members. Meanwhile this is on a stable number of about 50 men. Accompanied by, 3 accordionists, a drummer, a bass guitarist and an alto saxophonist.
