#historia Nace el 29 de octubre de 1951 en la planta de Cervecería Polar de Barcelona, Estado Anzoátegui bajo el nombre de Malta Polar, desde entonces han sido pocas las variaciones del producto, la primera lata que iba a salir al mercado fue prohibida por el gobierno de Marcos Pérez Jiménez por considerar que la imagen de lactancia materna en la que se veía un seno o mama atentaba contra la moral; el cambio más importante fue el de Malta Polar por Maltín Polar y es por esta razón qué se decidió sacarla al mercado oficialmente en los siguientes años posteriores.
En 2005 lanza al mercado la primera malta embotellada en plástico (PET) y una botella plástica familiar de 1.5 litros, a finales de 2006 se comienza a vender Maltín Polar Light para diversificar el mercado de la compañía.
