Like other major hotel brands and travel suppliers, Marriott is known for preferentially offering travel agents lower rates that they can either use for their own stays or book on behalf of their clients. However, the Marriott Travel Agents website offers more than just a discount.

In addition to a discount of up to 50%, Marriott offers travel tools and resources, pays a 10% commission, and even has its own online training program, Hotel Excellence! which educates travel agents about the industry. Marriott's Preferred Travel Agency Programme is available to agencies that have at least one advisor who holds an IATA, ARC, IATAN, or TIDS number.

The advisor must complete the Hotel Excellence! training program and undergo ongoing training, which you can learn more about here. New features include the ability to access and view commission statements online and easier access and booking of Marriott's "fam-tastic" rates. Other enhancements allow Marriott's Certified Hotel Sales Specialists to create their own user-friendly name and password to make navigating the site easier.

The website also enables Marriott's Intermediary Partner Care team to better support Marriott's travel agency partners through streamlined design and enhancements.

Marriott began its fam-tastic familiarisation rate program more than 20 years ago, offering Certified Hotel Sales Specialists special rates starting at $44 at more than 2,900 Marriott International hotels worldwide. Marriott was also the first company to centralize commissions for travel agents and remains the only hotel company in the world to offer a double commission guarantee on commissionable bookings.
