There are many horror series on Netflix, but frankly there are few that are really worthwhile on the platform.

It is true that The Curse of Hill House and the continuation in Bly Manor were two quite stimulating psychological horror series, with an above average quality in this genre.

But the step that creator Mike Flanagan has taken at Midnight Mass is more than considerable. In this 7-part miniseries he ignores all the easy springs of scary productions and focuses on the creation of memorable characters in a very charged atmosphere, with some scenes of lengthy dialogues that will bore those who are looking for manual scares but who have the ability to penetrate the psyche of spectators more bold.
