Master Chef
“Master Chef” is a gastronomic contest where the best amateur chef wins, after a series of tests that basically consist of preparing dishes on time.
It is based on the format of American television of the same title. After the huge success of the first edition, TVE 1 has just premiered in TVE 1, with other contestants who will try to succeed, such as the already popular Juan Manuel, last year.
More TV shows like Master Chef would be needed, as the scene is dominated by morbid and telebasura. On the other hand, this program promotes healthy competitiveness (contestants have generally shown enormous competitiveness, and the three judges tend to be constructive, and teach useful cooking classes). Eva González reveals to be a tall presenter.
The program engages, continues with interest, has had contestants capable of empathizing with the public for its naturalness, and features appearances by celebrities, such as actress Lola Herrera, and guests from the world of cooking, such as Sergi Arola and even FerranAdrià himself.
As a little critic, he can be blamed that, at least in the first edition, there was a jury composed of haute cuisine chefs, somewhat 'modernillos', so a certain claim for traditional dishes is missed, represented by the contestant of Benicraló Maribel, typical mother of family who was expelled too much fast.
It is also true that aesthetic and television aspects take precedence over professionals, so certain rules are not followed, such as always wearing a hat that covers all their hair, washing and disinfecting utensils such as the cutting board, etc. This takes away rigorousness, and can have dire results among those who want to learn good practices by following the program.
