Basement spreadsheet - a more than

Arithmetic in the substructure - 1 more than - with the dots of ladybirds. Connect nicely to the giga-green theme of the 2022 Children's Book Week, or any other nature theme.

  • The children count the dots and draw, spill or finger paint in the ladybug 1 dot more.
  • Cutting out and laying from high to low is also possible! Do they have ladybirds with the same number of dots?
  • At the bottom some more challenging sums without counting. With cubes, it can of course still count for the children who need it.
  • For the fast learner or the higher classes, “do it now with +3”
  • Can the students come up with an assignment that is slightly more challenging?
  • How do you know a ladybug is an insect? (6 legs)
  • The red and white dots part are the shields that protect the wings. The real wings are under it. Just before it flies, you can sometimes see that.
  • And unfortunately, the dots say nothing about the age, it indicates what species it is. For example, the “seven-spotted - ladybug”.
  • A ladybug lays eggs, and from that egg comes a larva first! It doesn't really look like mom and dad!
