Who knows if anyone still remembers “The Ghost Friend”, a television series broadcast by Rai 1 in the early seventies?
I hardly remember myself, I just know that my family liked it so much, especially my mother and me, and that we found it very captivating and fun.
In short, “La porta rossa”, with Lino Guanciale in the role of a deceased police commissioner, has precedents. Even in “The Ghost Friend”, the investigations were carried out by the specter of detective who died in the first episode, and who was close to his investigator friend and his still beloved wife. Nothing to do with the raw and noir atmospheres of ”La porta rossa”, here it was all very witty. It is an old English show from the second half of the 60s that features two private detectives: the first is Jeff Randall, played by actor Mike Pratt, the second Marty Hopkirk, played by Kenneth Cope.
The theme song was composed by John Barry, author of the music for the James Bond films, the most famous of which is undoubtedly “Goldfinger”.

how wonderful! I'm about your age (I just turned 60) and I could have seen that. but in Mozambique there was no television! and when I came to Lisbon where there was already, in 74, it must not have passed here
