Menuetzweefvlieg
Klein, slank zweefvliegje, dat als een 'stokje' voor bloemen en tussen de vegetatie kan zweven, waarbij ze schokkerig voortbewegen. Achterlijf zwart met wittige vlekken. Achterdij zeer dik. De soort komt eigenlijk overal voor. De larve leeft van afval op allerlei plekken, zoals bij de bodem en in composthopen.

Nice photo. The fly comes into its own on that light blue background. The Menuet glider or the Syritta pipiens, as Linnaeus first called them.
